Steam Engine
Past and present merged nostalgically on Feb. 19, 1967 as a steam engine brought railway buffs over the old Beeton sub line into Cookstown. The trip from Trenton was sponsored by the Upper Canada Railway Society.

Steam Powered Tractor
Side profile of an early twentieth century tractor powered by steam engine. The implement belonged to Beverly Quantz, who lived in St. Paul's. The tractor was often used for threshing, a seasonal event that involved the entire community with threshing teams that traveled from farm to farm. This photo shows the large rear wheels as well as the power transfer pulley - a medium sized wheel located off the ground between the front and rear wheels. A belt was attached to the pulley, which itself was powered by the engine. The belt would in turn be fastened to a second piece of machinery, usually a thresher., IHS1035

This particular threshing machine had no straw blower, nor a self feeder, so sheaves had to be fed by hand, and the straw handled by pitch forks. Steamship Collingwood
The steamship "Collingwood" was built in 1907 at Collingwood, it was scrapped circa 1970. The master was Captain F.A. Bassett, the first mate was Captain W. Inkster, both of Collingwood. The engine crew in 1921, some of whom resided in Innisfil, were H. Jack, C.E.W. Jack, A. Jack, H. Reid, W. Millar, A. Brown and J. Thompson. NAVIGATION, IHS160

Stephan Clement was the son of David Clement and Esther Doane. He later married Edna Haughton and they had two sons, Haughton and Lewis Clement of Toronto. He graduated from the University of Toronto in Electrical Engineering in 1905 and worked as an engineer with Ontario Hydro in Toronto. He died in 1944., IHS2354
Sterling Bank
Photo taken between 1975 and 1980 showing the front of the building originally known as the Sterling Bank, located on Killarney Beach Rd., north side of street, and west of train tracks. It was known as the Sterling Bank from 1913 to 1924, then the Standard Bank from 1924 to 1928, followed by the Bank of Commerce. The building, which is two storeys of red brick with a unique pediment over the front door, also served as post office beginning c. 1945.

It was known as the Sterling Bank from 1913 to 1924, then the Standard Bank from 1924 to 1928, followed by the Bank of Commerce. It also served as the post office beginning c. 1945. Stonecroft Motor Camp
Photo of Margery Yeates serving tea at the Stonecroft Motor Camp located on what was then Highway 11 near the bend at Minet's Point Rd. Margery's parents, John and Emily Yeates, owned the business, which they began on 30 April 1928. They later added a gas station later in 1928, which was the first between Bradford and Barrie. The photo shows Miss Yeates in an apron and cap placing a tray with a teapot and coffee pot down on a table. The table and chairs were made out of unhewn wood by John Yeates, but were said to have been quite comfortable., IHS1855
