Stephan Clement was the son of David Clement and Esther Doane. He later married Edna Haughton and they had two sons, Haughton and Lewis Clement of Toronto. He graduated from the University of Toronto in Electrical Engineering in 1905 and worked as an engineer with Ontario Hydro in Toronto. He died in 1944.
