Photograph of the four Jacks in the Marshall Family. Pictured on the far left is baby Jacquetta Marshall, with her father Jack Marshall holding her. Next is his nephew Jack Marshall Thompson, and Grandfather John Marshall. They are all identified as family of Mr. Edgar Thompson's mother. Mr. John Thompson was a photographer and he took this picture with his own homemade camera. The following information comes from Tracy Strohm in January 2021: "Jack Marshall (holding Jacquetta my mother) was my grandfather. He was married to Mabel Hickling who was raised by Aunt Addie and Uncle David Peacock over the Painswick General Store. Jack and Mabel operated a Service Station on Burton Ave in Barrie before Jack went to work for the Post Office. Jack and Mabel renovated and moved to the barn known as 29 Parkside Dr. Barrie (Dyment estate) when he began at the post office. Jack died of a heart attack delivering mail in 1956. Mabel went on to have a successful real estate career and sold her final house the week before she died in 1985.", IHS1151

Frances M. Hubbert With Niece

Photo of Frances M. Hubbert in a long dress on a porch step holding with her infant Noriene Hastings of Beaverlodge, Alberta. The photograph was taken at 189 Essa Road. Ms. Hubbert was a teacher, missionary, and writer born in 1900 at Holly as the seventh child of James Hubbert and Martha Srigley. She graduated as a Deaconess of the Anglican Church in 1929 and was best known as a Friendship Worker for the Anglican Women's Auxiliary (1950-65) and welcomed hundreds of European immigrant families to Toronto after the war in the name of the Church. She found homes, jobs, and arranged classes in English for them, often teaching them herself. In 1964 she alone resettled 145 families and held 474 interviews. From 1933 to 1973 she wrote poems and stories for children, a countless number were published, mainly in Anglican Sunday School papers, "Child's Own." Her "Twilight Hour" (1959) was published in public school reader "Across the Country," "God the Father Hears Today" (1962) was published in the Anglican Hymn Book for Children, "Cradles in a Manger" (1965) was chosen for a new hymn book by the Hymn Society of America and was one of twelve accepted from 400 entries. From 1965 to 1973 she was the Literature Secretary for the national office of the WCTU., IHS1655

Wedding portrait of Francis "Frank" Hindle (9 January 1880 - 26 December 1956) and Jennie Rodgers (10 October 1882 - 6 November 1936). They were married on 7 March 1906. Frank was the son of Charles Hindle and Ann Maltas, and Jennie was the daughter of Robert Rodgers and Elizabeth Allen. The image shows Frank dressed in an elegant black suit and Jennie in a long sleeved full length white gown with high neck and ruffle around the shoulders.
