Former Bank And Post Office, Lefroy
Photo of the square red brick building on Killarney Beach Road that was originally built as a bank and later functioned as a post office. It was built in either 1913 or 1916 by Ross Sheldon of Lefroy. Sheldon built several similar banks, including one in Kirkland Lake and one in King. The photo appears to have been taken out of a car window as a side mirror is visible at the bottom., IHS499

Former Lefroy Public School 1965
Photograph of the former Lefroy Public School sometime after it had been converted into a private dwelling. Beginning in the mid-1800s, the building had once served as a school for children from the Lefroy and Bell Ewart communities on Killarney Beach Road. This building is still standing on the north side of Killarney Beach Rd. in Lefroy, just west of the train tracks., IHS500

Former Site Of The Haughton Mill Dam
Members of the Innisfil Historical Society visit the former site of the Haughton Mill dam, used by the sawmill and shingle mill of the 1870s, which provided many jobs. Mill hands lived in 8 or 9 cottages nearby. There was also a Post Office nearby for 9 years and it was known as the "Lennox" Post Office., IHS2015

Four Jacks in Marshall Family
Photograph of the four Jacks in the Marshall Family. Pictured on the far left is baby Jacquetta Marshall, with her father Jack Marshall holding her. Next is his nephew Jack Marshall Thompson, and Grandfather John Marshall. They are all identified as family of Mr. Edgar Thompson's mother. Mr. John Thompson was a photographer and he took this picture with his own homemade camera. The following information comes from Tracy Strohm in January 2021: "Jack Marshall (holding Jacquetta my mother) was my grandfather. He was married to Mabel Hickling who was raised by Aunt Addie and Uncle David Peacock over the Painswick General Store. Jack and Mabel operated a Service Station on Burton Ave in Barrie before Jack went to work for the Post Office. Jack and Mabel renovated and moved to the barn known as 29 Parkside Dr. Barrie (Dyment estate) when he began at the post office. Jack died of a heart attack delivering mail in 1956. Mabel went on to have a successful real estate career and sold her final house the week before she died in 1985.", IHS1151
