: The Emily May; The Emily May was a Lake Simcoe excursion steamer whose hull lies off of Belle Ewart Park today. The photo shows a long white steamboat with one stack and the name EMILY MAY painted on the side, with a number of passengers standing on its deck. It was the largest and most serviceable paddle steamer on Lake Simcoe, known as a side-wheeler. The boat could carry 800 passengers and had a speed of 14 miles per hour. It was built in Belle Ewart by Isaac May in 1861 and was in service for 21 years doing both passenger and freight business, and made regular trips from Orillia, Barrie, and Holland Landing in addition to numerous excursion voyages., IHS148

: Tree Honoured; Newspaper clipping of an image with the caption: "Innisfil township's first historical plaque was unveiled Sunday afternoon at the farm of Harold Webb on the 13th concession. The plaque commemorates Innisfil's part in 1853, of supplying the tree that would be the mast for the largest ship in the world -- the 693-foot Great Eastern. This 120 foot log was hauled to the water by ten teams of horses. The plaque was unveiled by Hilton and Judy Webb, fourth and fifth generation members of the Webb family." The image features two mean on the left side of the rock holding the plaque, and a child on the right assisting with the reveal; they are labeled in pen (L-R) Reeve George Burton, Hilton [Webb], Judy [Webb].

: Workers Harvesting Ice On Lake Simcoe; Ice harvesting off of the 8th Line of Innisfil. Workers are loading ice blocks onto a horse drawn wagon to be taken to the ice storage house on shore. The last season of ice removal was likely February and March of 1952., IHS4199(c)

: \\Islay; Photo of the Lake Simcoe steamer named "Islay" taken while docked. Several crewmen or passengers are visible standing on the deck and posed for the photo. The tall man is Captain Frederick Mackay. It operated as part of the Lake Simcoe Navigation Company, and was the last steamer on the lake.
