Parade For Innisfil'S Centennial Celebrations
Photograph of the float designed by Cherry Creek S.S. #3 and Fifth Line S.S. #7 for the parade celebrating the Township of Innisfil's Centennial year, June 1951. The parade was held in Innisfil Beach Park. The float contains a number of school-aged children in Native clothing with a small tipi structure at the rear., IHS4186
Parade For The Return Of First World War Soldiers
Photograph of a float in a parade celebrating the return of soldiers who fought in World War I. The photo shows a number of people seated in the back of a truck bed, two young girls seated in the front cab, as well as two young women on top of the cab. Pictured from left to right are: Lorine Lowrie, Lois Banting, Josephine Robinson, Hazel Clute (wearing a distinctive kilt costume), Margaret Robinson, and Olive Lewis. One of the women on top of the cab is Marjorie Agnew, and the two girls inside the cab are Marion Banting and Grace Robinson. Everyone is dressed in formal coats and hats to celebrate the occasion.
Parker Peacock And Fraser Sutherland With A Prize-Winning Colt
Photo of Parker Peacock and Fraser Sutherland standing beside a farm building with a large, fully grown horse as well as a prize winning colt owned by Parker's father, Fred Peacock. Parker was the fifth generation of Peacocks to live on the family farm in Innisfil, north half of lot 14 on the eighth concession. The founder of the farm was Captain John A. Peacock, a British army veteran of Cadiz, Gibraltar, Spain, and the Battle of Waterloo. This photo appears on page 60 of the Stroud Tweedsmuir History, volume II., IHS3382-65B

Parson'S Dance Hall
Photograph of the exterior of Parson's Dance Hall, which was later known as Peggy's Dance Hall. It was owned and built by George and Peggy Parsons in the early 1930s up the road from Leonard's Beach on Lake Simcoe. It contained and operated as a bowling alley, summer movie theatre, dance hall (until 1970), and variety store until it was torn down in the mid-1980s. The building itself had a gambrel roof with log cabin style walls. Painted across the front are the words "Dancing," "Cabin," and "Pavilion." A gasoline pump and car are also visible just to the left of the entrance., IHS 4364

It contained and operated as a bowling alley, summer movie theatre,dance hall (until 1970) variety store until it was torn down in the mid 1980's. Paterson Family Residence
Photo taken across the road of the residence of Mr. and Mrs. William Paterson, known locally as the former "old doctors' home" for 60 years (1860-1926). It is a white house mostly blocked by trees in the front and a short driveway. Previous owners included Ernest Aver and Newton Spence. This photo's view looks towards the northeast. The home was eventually demolished for highway widening in the 1970s., IHS2605

Peninsular Park Hotel
Photograph of the Peninsular Park Hotel, which was popular in the early twentieth century and known as an aristocratic summer resort. Located on Big Bay Point and built in 1886 or 1887 it contained 60 guest rooms as well as a spacious rotunda and dining hall. It was known to attract American tourists interested in taking their holidays in the "wilds" of Canada. In this photo a number of guests can be seen scattered across the hotel's lawn, some seated in chairs and others directly on the ground. The building itself is three storeys and has a large verandah wrapping around the front and left sides visible in the photo., IHS126

Post Card image of Peninsular Park Hotel on Big Bay Point. The photo shows several hotel guests seated in lawn chairs in the summer sun. Much of the building's wraparound verandah is obscured by the growth of trees and shrubs surrounding the three storey building.
