Pictured in the back seat from left to right are: Edith, Dora, May (Reive), and Harvey (standing up). Front seat: Wray, Kathleen, and Zella. This type of wagon was called a "Democrat" but it is also known as a "phaeton." Some versions came with a fringed canvas top., IHS591

: Old Stroud Elevator; Built in the 1890's, this elevator is now owned by Art and Doug Diceman. It was once the scene of much activity with a busy railroad track beside it and in a mainly rural community. It was demolished in 1985., IHS4193

: Olive Quantz; Olive Quantz, daughter of John Quantz, sister of Alberta who became Mrs. Hill., IHS3041

: Olympia Skating Rink; The Olympia Skating Rink was built in 1910 by Mr. T.L. Webb, between Wellington Street and Queen Street, just west of the four corners. The Cookstown Brass Band played Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings for skating and the ice surface was used for hockey on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Dress carnivals were also held here, frequently drawing large crowds from the surrounding community. The rink was discontinued when large numbers of men enlisted in World War I. After it closed as a skating rink, Rankin and Dennis Nolan used it for car storage. Mr. Harry Rankin sold cars and had a garage. Harry Goodwin purchased the garage and also sold cars. Clarence Walker worked as the mechanic. Tenants included Albert Nixon, Mr. Rankin, Wilbert Dermott, and Ethel Jebb. Information courtesy of the Cookstown Tweedsmuir History volume 2, page 49.

: Ontario Hydro Sub Station - Cookstown; Photo of the Ontario Hydro sub station in Cookstown, located at Victoria and Dufferin St. The Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontario purchased the property from James McFadden in 1918 for $375. The system was built in 1918 and cost $2,850. The station was removed in 1996 and a lawn was planted in its place.

: Opening The Road; John Boyes and his teams on Highway 11 opening the road after a snowfall. Mr. Boyes was the road foreman and responsible for maintenance. The old local doctor's home and the hotel are both visible in the background., IHS2668

: Opening of the Gates to St Paul's Cemetery; The official opening of the gates to St. Paul's Cemetery, which had been donated by Helena (Lena) Raymes. Lena Raymes placed this entrance in memory of her father, Frank Quantz, son of George Quantz. The plaque reads: "In memory of B. F. Quantz family." Pictured in this photo are: Bert Bond, Margaret Quantz, Betty Reid, Harold Knowles, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Quantz, Mac. : Oran Wice; Oran Wice (born in 1845, died December 30, 1884) he was the youngest son of early Innisfil pioneer parents, Samuel and Elizabeth (Quantz) Wice. Oran married Elizabeth Ann Williams on March 25, 1868. They had four sons and three daughters. Oran was born in Innisfil (Pt. SH Lot 13, Conc 12) and is buried in St. James United Church Cemetery Stroud., IHS 4397
