Photo of Mrs. Eva Patton, the President of the Cookstown Women's Institute 1953-1956; Membership of 63; Programmes consisted of Demonstrations and special speakers; two bus trips taken yearly; catered to banquets and weddings; entertained at Simcoe Manor once yearly taking birthday presents and treats of ice cream and candy; new electric stove put in kitchen of town hall; at end of term bank balance of $500.00 - used to decorate the town hall where monthly meetings were held; and three members were made Life Members in the year 1953. Mrs. Patton is now a Life Member.
