: Stroud Short Course Class; Photograph of the participants in short course classes in 1931. These short classes were held in winter by the Department of Agriculture, and separate classes were offered for the "boys" and "girls" in Agriculture and Home Economics. At the time, there were many unmarried young people still living at home on the farm after completing school. Gentleman at extreme left, wearing hat, is F.A. : Stroud Telephone Company - 1964; The Stroud Telephone Co. completes 53 years service, now called Bell Telephone. Stroud Telephone was first formed on 27 November, 1911. Robert A. Sutherland was the first president, his son R. Frazer Suitherland made the final telephone call through the Stroud system in 1964, being the last president.
