Lefroy Public School 1958 - 1975. At the closing of the Lefroy Continuation School in 1958 the building was taken over by Township School Area No. 1. The Industrial Arts machinery and Home Economics appliances were sold and the building was converted to four elimentary classrooms. Although the basement room was not too satisfactory.
The buses in the picture transported surplus pupils from other schools in the area No. 1.

The church has long since been demolished and replaced by a school now used by the Sheila Morrison group. The brick schoolhouse is still standing, but is not being used.", IHS1895

This picture came from the 3rd Line Farm house of Harry and George Averill. Gerald Ramsay's Father's
Grandmother was an Averill.
The Hamilton and Northwestern Railway merged with the Northern Railway of Canada in 1879 and became known as the Northern and Northwestern Railway (N. and N.W.) the same as in this picture.
