The Lefroy United Church later purchased the hall from the Township of Innisfil. Lefroy Continuation School - 1926 - 1958
Lefroy Continuation School, 1926 - 1958, construction was hollow concrete block and brick. For a few years the building housed the Sheila Morrison School (until 1986). The part of the school to the left of the picture was the abandoned Presbyterion Church, after Church Union in 1925. It was converted to a two room school (Continuation) and opened in 1926. The entrance on the extreme left was added at this time, a short flight of steps to the basement. Stairs up to the main foyer (two windows) leading to classrooms left and right, with the Principal's office on the southwest corner (single window). In 1938 the part to the right was added, and Home Economics was taught upstairs and Industrial Arts in the basement. This was the first Home Economics and Industrial Arts in the County, as Barrie, or any of the other towns had not started to teach them yet. Due to a very progressive Continuation School Board from the Lefroy and Belle Ewart sections, and local pupils being able to attend as county pupils, an education up to Fourth Form (Grade 12) Home Economics and Industrial Arts was provided for the southeast part of the Township., IHS3507
