An appreciation card was given to the Knock Community Cenre (Club) Ladies after presenting Royal Victoria Hospital with $1,793.37, needed to purchase a wheelchair, especially designed for tall patients. This amount, including money added by Beth Bowman, was accumulated by the ladies through bake sales, euchre parties, quilting and officially closed the account and marked the official end of 52-3 years. The Club was established in 1942 as the result of Red Cross needs during wastime. In the beginning it was known as the Knock Sewing Circle.
