Born in England, Denis came to Canada at age 4 and later moved to Innisfil where he attended Big Bay Point School. Denis set up a custom lumber business which operated until 1970. The sign out front read Denis Sheard Ltd., Quality Lumber, Loans arranged. Paint, brushes, drafting supplies and lumber were only a part of the merchandise. The business operated until 1970.
