Photo of Paul, Jessie, and Charlotte Big Sail making woven baskets in the native tradition. In the photo, all three members are seated on the ground in front of a tent with the supplies for baskets in front of them. A small dog sits beside a finished basket. According to Mrs. F.W. Dallimore, the Big Sail family lived on the north half of lot 28, between concessions 11 and 12 and were known for their beautiful wares including baskets, small boats, handkerchief boxes, and hampers adorned with porcupine quills, grasses, and beadwork. The photo comes courtesy of Mrs. Ruby King of Scarborough. Further information is available at the Knock Heritage Site.
