Portrait of James Black, born on November 11 1853, oldest son of Robert Black and Margaret Booth. He was also the grandson of James Black and Mary Latimer, who were among Innisfil's earliest pioneers, settling in the area in 1847. This James was married to Mary Lennox, the daughter of James Lennox and Margaret McCartney, a pioneer family of Essa Township. They were married on 19 March 1884 and their children included W. Lennox and Mayme Black. He is pictured here in a suit and sporting a moustache. This photo can be found on page 103 of the Stroud Tweedsmuir History, Volume 11.
