The father of Miss Betty O'Connell, Timothy O'Connell, farmed all his life. He came from Ireland in 1847 as a young boy. Note: In the series of photographs of the O'Connells there are three different spellings of the name O'Connell, Conley, Connell and O'Connell, the latter being the correct spelling.
