Photo from 1930 of the war memorial in Cookstown. The photo shows the rows of trees planted behind it in what is today known as Veterans Memorial Park. The cenotaph is a stone cairn with a cross at the top, and in this image has a bronze plaque bearing the names of local men who died while serving in World War I. Later, a second plaque would be added with the names of men who died in World War II, followed by a third small plaque to commemorate the Korean War.
