Marriage of John Alymer Trumbley to Alice Turner on March 29, 1919. While a farmer in the Cookstown area, John A. Jack Trumbley (born 1895) son of Thomas and Elizabeth Ann (Crittenden) Trumbley, enlisted in WWI during which time he was shot in the leg. He served in 157th Battalion, 19th Battalion (3rd reserves), and 1st Central Ontario Regiment Depot. He married Alice Turner and brought her back to the Cookstown area where they had nine children. The oldest five children served in WW11. Alice died of heart problems in 1932. Jack had developed polio and was in a wheelchair. Because he was unable to care for them, the children went to live with Innisfil residents and in foster homes. The photo shows John in his military uniform, and Alice in a white wedding gown and veil, holding a small bouquet.
