Wedding portrait of Henry "Harry" George Cannon and Ruby May Trumbley, 24 November 1919. Harry (1889-1947) came to Canada from Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire, England, about 1912. Before WWI Harry had met Ruby of Thornton-Cookstown area, daughter of Thomas Trumbley and Elizabeth Ann Crittenden. They married soon after Harry's overseas service in the First World War and settled in Churchill. They had three children: Douglas who died at the age of 12 in a bicycle accident, Muriel (later Mrs. C. Chambers) and Ella (Mrs. R. Patterson). Harry served in the 255th Battalion and 75th Battalion in World War One. Harry also served in the Veteran's Guard in World War Two. The photo shows Harry seated wearing a dark suit and holding a roll of papers, and Ruby May standing next to him in a white long sleeved gown.
