Annie May (née Brownscombe) Grainger (1894-1977) was widowed with children (Phyllis, Raymond, Gordon, Lloyd) when she married David "Ed" Crawford (1877-1963) in 1919, who was a widower with five children of his own. The couple had four living children together: Earl, May, Jean, Helen. The Crawfords purchased 100 acres at Churchill, a property with two cabins and a barn.
