Photo of a home with signs at the front of the building labeling the home as "Lynhurst" another "flowers vegetables for sale". Lynhurst was the former home of Robert Oscar Hurst (1887-1958). Robert was born at Painswick, son of John Hurst and Sarah Booth. Robert became a well known pharmacist and Professor of Pharmacy in Toronto. For a time he spent summers there, where he enjoyed gardening. During the 1940s the family of Charles Hawkins lived in the home. Their daughter Doris had married Stanley McDonald. While Stanley fought in WWII, the Korean War, and later peacekeeping missions, Doris and children lived at Lynhurst. The photo was taken in early 1940s.
