In his 71st year he passed away at Royal Victoria Hospital leaving behind his wife Mildred Nevils and children Patricia Ouwendyk, Marjorie Woolner, Edith Spence, Donna Slinger, Robert, and 15 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son John. Internment was at Alliston Union Cemetery.
