Photo of rocks painted with poppies and messages of remembrance and thanks anonymously left behind at the Cookstown Cenotaph. Beginning in the spring when Covid-19 related shutdowns began, the informal trend of painting rocks with colourful images or inspirational messages began to swept through Innisfil and the entire country in an effort to spread positivity. The rocks are normally left behind in areas with high pedestrian traffic (trails, mailboxes, parks) and passersby can take rocks or leave new ones behind.
