Historical Plaque Unveiled At Bond Head Honors Sir Wm. Mulock The memory of another illustrious native son of Bond Head, the late Sir William Mulock, was commemorated with the unveiling of an historical plaque in Bond Head Memorial Park on Sunday afternoon last, when approximately 200 persons attended the ceremonies. Sir William died in 1944 at the age of 101. The plaque stands beside one dedicated last November to another famous son of the village, Sir William Osler, known as "the father of clinical medicine." Mulock, grand-daughter-in-law; Mrs. William Mulock; Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Mulock and children, William and Deborag, and Wing Commander A.B. Mathews and Mrs. Mathews, grand-daughter of Sir William. Known as a humanitarian, he was "a great Canadian, a man of imagination and vision, a pioneer and a leader," said Prof. T.F. McIlwraith, representing the Archaeological and Historic Sites Board, which erected the plaque. "He never seemed to grow old mentally, even though he lived past a century," said Hon. Earl Rowe, M.P. for Dufferin-Simcoe. Other guest who addressed the gathering included the chairman, Mr. Percy Selby, reeve of West Gwillimbury; Mr. Geo. Lisk, reeve of Tecumseth; Mr. Herbert Hughes, representing the Council of West Gwillimbury; Mr. Arthur Evans, reeve of Bradford and warden of Simcoe County; Mr. C.T.S. Evans, Q.C., Bradford, representing the Bar Association; Mr. Murray Mills, chairman of the Tourist and Industrial Association of Simcoe County; Mr. Thos. H. Mulock, great-grandson of Sir William. The dedication of the plaque was performed by Rev. C.R.P. Hearn of Bond Head Anglican Church. Guides and Brownies of the Bond Head Company were also in attendance. Mrs. Alvin Smith assisted at the piano for "O Canada" and "The Queen." At the conclusion of the ceremonies a cup of tea and refreshments were served to the guests.
