The following account was provided by Bill Warnica: Adam Myers was born 10 January 1842 on the family farm of his parents, David and Mary Ann Myers (née Hudson), being the south half of lot 16 concession 10 Innisfil, then known as Myers' Corners. Adam worked in the Craigvale sawmill until 1862 when he then purchased the south west corner of the the family farm, where the old log schoolhouse has previously stood. Here Adam built a two storey tavern while courting his fiance Mary Hudson of Penetanguishene. Adam prepared the second level of the tavern for their marriage by making trips to Toronto four days before their marriage to buy furniture. On 8 February 1867 in the Victoria (Stroud) Wesleyan Parsonage, Adam Myers and Mary Hudson were married. Adam and Mary had 7 children: Alice, Thomas Harrison ("Harry"), George, Mark, twins Elma & Emma and John. In 1883 Mary suffered with tuberculosis and was bedridden until her death on 18 March 1883. Adam also had a previous lung infection that had him lying in a dying state at the time of her passing. Adam died the next day on 19 March 1883 at only 41 years of age. Both died of tuberculosis and were interred at the same time at St Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery, Innisfil. Their six surviving children had to be put out for adoption.
