Image of the Thompson family making Cider on their family farm, taken around 1900. John Thompson is using a heading vise to install the head on a barrel of apples with his three sons Wilson, Harry and Fred, plus unknown face in the doorway. This process is often mistaken as making cider with a press, due to the similarity of the upper workings of the mechanisms employed in both the pressing and packing operations. Their farm was located at Lot 17 on 8th Line in Innisfil - now known as Innisfil Beach Road.
