Photograph of the conveyors constructed to transport blocks of ice harvested from Lake Simcoe into a Belle Ewart Ice Company ice house on the shore. The conveyor structures and the building are all made of wood. Blocks of ice would be stored in the ice house year round and shipped as far as the United States to be used in home ice boxes.
