Photo of a train stationed in front of the Belle Ewart Ice Company storage house, which would have been loaded with large blocks of ice to be transported to Toronto or even some of the northern United States to be used in home ice boxes before refrigeration was available. Ice was stored in the houses year round in sawdust to prevent it from melting, and the tall grass and wildflowers visible in the foreground of the photo indicate that this shipment took place in the spring or summer. The train car nearest the left of the photo reads "Grand Trunk" and the car beside it reads "Canadian Northern", a rail line that merged with the Canadian National Railway (CN) in 1923.
