Copy of a Statutory Declaration that the Delco Lighting Plant was purchased jointly by Edward Sloan and Dr. Duncan McCallum and placed on the property of Edward Sloan in 1920. It was later sold again on 26 June 1926 to Ernest Avery, who lived in the old doctor's house across from the United Church. The text of the document is as follows: Dominion of Canada Province of Ontario In the Matter of Delco Lighting Plant owned by Duncan McCallum and Edward H. Sloan. County of Simcoe TO WIT: I, Duncan McCallum of Township of Innisfil in the County of Simcoe, Physician, Do Solemnly Declare that 1. The Delco Lighting Plant owned by myself and Edward H. Sloan, and situated on the property of the said Edward H. Sloan at the Village of Churchill, was purchased from the Delco Lighting Company by us, and the same has been paid for in full. 2. There are no liens, charges, encumbrances, or claims of any kind outstanding against the said Delco Lighting Plant. And I make this solemn Declaration conscientiously believing it to be true and knowing that it is of the same force and effect as if made under oath and by virtue of “The Canada Evidence Act.” Declared before me at the Town of Barrie in the County of Simcoe this 12 (?) day of June A.D. 1926.
