Photo of William Wright's log house with a gaggle of geese in the front yard. The house has a chimney, door, and two front windows. William (1807-1887) was born in either England or Scotland and married Patience Parker (1813-1884). It is unclear if they met in Scotland or if they came to Canada separately as children and met here. They moved to Innisfil from Toronto after making the journey by foot, and anecdotally William carried a Seth Thomas clock with him, allegedly on his head. They settled on lot 5, concession 7 near Thornton and built their two storey log house. They nine children, including: George, Charles, James, Thomas, William II (1850-1928), Annie (1852-1930), Robert (1855-1929), Emma, and Jane (1838-1926).
