The studio has been set up with a chair, side table, and small box resting under Annie's feet. On the table there is an unknown decoration. Annie is sitting and holding a book in her lap. She is wearing a dress with stockings and boots. Her hair is kept back from her face using a ribbon tied in a bow as a hairband. Annie Sturgeon was the great aunt of Mr. Douglas Hughes.
