She was the mother of Brian (Christina) DeGeer of Nova Scotia and of Bruce (Michelle) DeGeer of Midhurst, Ont. She was predeceased by her brothers, Murray McFadden (the late Betty) and John McFadden (Lorna) of Hillsdale. The funeral service was held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Chapel, Minet's Point, Barrie on August 22nd, 2006 followed by interment in Hillsdale United Cemetery.

She was the sister of Sharon Deschenes (Pierre) of South River, Diane Vanier (Peter) of Brampton, Barbara Szabo (John) of Utopia, John Marshall (Debbie) of Mississauga, Judy Weber (Gary) of Aurora, Nancy McNutt (Wade) of Orangeville, Connie Johnston (Wayne) of Calgary, Sandi Jenkinson (Ken) of Aurora and Lori Jones (Bill) of Innisfil. A funeral service was held in the chapel of the Innisfil Home in Stroud, Ont. on February 25th, 2008. Interment was in Innisvale Cemetery, Innisfil.
