He was the brother of Ken and Lois Archibald. He was an employee of Cooper Canada for 44 years. Funeral service was held at the Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham on July 21st, 2007 followed by interment in Trinity Cemetery Beeton.

He was the husband of Diana Bain (nee Archer) for 35 years. and the father of Monica Demaine (Joe) of Innisfil and Robert (Stephanie) of Barrie. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Minnie Speers and Roy and Mary Bain, he was the brother of Douglas Speers (Kathy) of Moonstone, Lawrence Speers (Susan) of Denmark, David Bain of Barrie, Dianne Bain of Barrie, Kimberly Sarjeant of Bancroft and Doug Bain of Grand Prairie, Alta. Bob was the owner operator of Bain Construction Ltd. and was a co-founder of the Innisfil Oldtimers Hockey. The funeral service was held on April 10th, 2007 in the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Minet's Point with a spring interment in Cookstown United Church Cemetery.
