Robert was the son of James Black, an Innisfil pioneer who came with his brother John and sisters Sarah and Isabella from Dungannon, County Tyrone, Ireland in 1847. Robert married Margaret Booth and their children were James, Mary, Sarah Ann, Mary Jane, and Robert. This photo shows Mr. Black in a wool suit and sporting a mutton chop style of facial hair.
