Photo from 1930 of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Annie (née Hopkins) Pratt on their farm, which remained in the Pratt name from 1832 until 1959. Albert's ancestor John Pratt (1792-1861) arrived from Gloucestershire, England in 1832 and his wife, Ann Smith (1801-1851) came to Canada in 1834 with five children: William, Mary, Fanny, George, and Jesse. Two younger sons, John and Henry, were born in Canada. In this photo Albert and Annie are crouched in the middle of the farmyard feeding a gaggle of geese. The edge of a tool shed is visible on the left, and a silo on the right. Annie and Albert had five children, son William (born 11 March 1908), daughter Edith (born 2 June 1910), son Elmer (born 16 November 1913), daughter Helen (born December 1920), and daughter Florence (born 16 February 1923).
