Barn raising in 1907 on the farm of John Leonard, Lot 22, Concession 10, Stroud. He was the father of Jim Leonard. The following description was taken from tape recorded discussion transcription between Don Beatty (R.R. 1, Lefroy) and John Cowan (Knock). [This barn] would be considered Jim's west barn after he took over his uncle's farm - Robert Leonard - and used to go back and forth and do chores. One brother was Robert and the other was John, Jim's father, and he lived on the west place and this barn was being built on that farm. The old Leonard homestead was the east place and that was always referred to as "Kildare Farm".
