Roy Goodfellow With A Hereford Cow
Photo of Roy Goodfellow in 1948 standing with one of his prize Hereford Cattle, characterized by its brown body and white head and chest. They are standing in front of a barn or farm building with the words "Maple Lane Farm: Polled Herefords" painted in white on the side. Roy Goodfellow was one of the first in Ontario to have Polled Herefords, which are a hornless variant of regular Herefords. He showed at Barrie, Cookstown, and other Fairs. Royal Bank Of Canada - Cookstown
Photo of the exterior of the Royal Bank of Canada, Cookstown branch in 1968. The image shows the brick building's front door, flanked by a window on both sides, and a sign with "Royal Bank of Canada" above them. The window left of the door says "Savings Bank Department" and the window on the right reads "Drafts and Money Orders Issued." There is a small portion of patterned and stained glass above both windows and the door. The bank building was originally owned by G.T. Somers, but soon became a Sterling Bank. In 1905 Sterling Bank amalgamated with the Union Bank of Canada, which in turn was taken over by the Royal Bank of Canada in 1925.
