Highway 89
Cookstown - Highway 89 on a Sunday afternoon in October 1977. The old Nixon building is still standing. Antique and novalty buyers came to Town by the bus loads, and many people spend their Sunday afternoons browsing around the stores here.

Holiday House For Toronto Girls
Photograph of the commemorative sundial on the lawn of the Holiday House for Toronto Girls, south of Stoney Point on Lake Simcoe. The sundial was dedicated to Eleanor Douglas, founder of Holiday House, as it was her labour of love. The area provided two week holidays for Toronto girls who couldn't afford a holiday. It was also said to be used by female employees of the T. Eaton Co. This property was purchased by Toronto Wrestling Promoter Frank Tunney in 1949 and was owned by him until he passed away. It was later sold again in 1984. The building is still standing (circa 2013)., IHS509

Holly Methodist Church
Photo of the first church at Holly. It was a Methodist church built in 1859 by pioneer families. The building was largely the work of Mahlon Srigley and his sons, Robert being the only qualified builder in the settlement. He made the window sashes by hand. Services were conducted in this building for over 40 years. 1951 Historical Review p. 2., IHS4135
