Photograph scanned from the Barrie Examiner newspaper depicting a group of soldiers from the front, likely during World War I. The original caption was: "The above group of some Simcoe soldiers has reached The Examiner from the firing line. They are from left to right as follows: Top Row- Geo. Purchase, Geo. In front of him holding two young girls, Cora and Dora Guest, is Elizabeth "Betsy" Margaret Soules (née Sibbald), the widow of William J. Soules. The woman standing is Annie Susana Soules (née Guest) and next to her is her husband John W. Soules. The woman seated beside her is possibly Mary Henrietta Jobbitt (née Guest), but originally identified as "Mrs. Hugh Finlay née Elspeth Soules, sister of John Soules"; however, John's sister was named Jennie "Jane" Soules-Finlay. In the front row seated on the lawn from left to right are Minnie May Ruffle Guest, the adopted daughter of Jack and Libbie Guest, followed by Rex and Mary Guest, and then Frankie Pearl Soules., IHS2230

Lived on Lot 26, Concession 13, Big Bay Point.

John Soules married Annie Guest, (grandfather and
grandmother of Earl Warnica) his mother was Pearl Soules.
James died in 1833 - lost in a storm on the lake (ice) coming back from Bradford where he went for supplies
