Innisfil Historical Society Newspaper Clipping
-
Copy of a newspaper clipping from the Barrie Examiner in 1974 entitled "Innisfil Historical Society Wants to Research the Past." The article discusses the Society's interest in finding out more about four local landmarks: Clements Cemetery on Concession 2, Shultz Pottery on Concession 5, the Methodist Church that stood beside the one-room Warnica school, the Warnica house on the east side of Highway 11 between Concessions 12 and 13, as well as the schooners and steamers of Lake Simcoe. The article also mentions that the Society hoped more research would enable them to better co-ordinate and more effectively preserve sites from destruction or at least salvage information before they were destroyed. Hugh Jackson is listed at the Society's Chairman., IHS2817
