Photograph of a miniature rolling pin designed to commemorate the International Rolling Pin Throwing Competition held in Stroud in 1962. The rolling pin has the following text written on it in reflective gold ink: "International Rolling Pin Throwing STROUD - CANADA 1962". The item was donated by owner May Watson in 2020. The item is approximately 7.75 inches/19.5 cm long and has red handles on either side. An annual brick throwing competition for men beginning in 1960 was held between two cities named Stroud, known for their brick-making industries, in Gloucestershire England and Oklahoma, U.S.A. In 1961 two additional locations named Stroud in Ontario, Canada, and New South Wales, Australia, were added to make it truly international, and in 1962 a rolling pin throwing competition was added for women to compete in.
