Threshing Team
Photo of a team of men assembled beside a self-propelled steam engine and its attached threshing machine with self-feeder. Pictured in the top right is Robert Thompson with Harry Thompson beside him. On the bottom left is likely Calvin Boyd holding a grain box. The rest of the men are unknown. Threshing, which separates the inedible chaff from the edible part of grain, occurred after harvest and before winnowing. Threshing bees were held because the work was intensive and equipment was often shared within the community., IHS3529

Image believed to be taken in 1920 of Thomas Wisker's home, located on Wisker Avenue in Belle Ewart. On the left side of the image the home can be seen. Wedding portrait of William George Garfield Gordon (born 29 June 1886, son of Joseph and Jane Gordon) and Birdie Evelyn Cross, who were married on 23 February 1916. They were married at the bride's home at Nantyr, directly across from the old Nantyr School. After they were married they moved to Ponteix, Saskatchewan to farm. They then returned to Ontario for a short period, and later moved westward once again. They eventually returned to Stroud and retired in the house beside the Stroud Post Office (later the residence of Norman Sabin)., IHS1565

Workers Harvesting Ice On Lake Simcoe
Ice harvesting off of the 8th Line of Innisfil. Workers are loading ice blocks onto a horse drawn wagon to be taken to the ice storage house on shore. The last season of ice removal was likely February and March of 1952., IHS4199(c)
